Spiritual Fog

Spiritual Fog

Spiritual Fog!

Posted on December 9, 2025

As I was driving down 485 yesterday on my way to church, my view was obscured because of the heavily defense fog. As I continued my drive, the Holy Spirit popped a thought in my head. How many of us experience spiritual fogginess at times?

For me, as I drove on towards Matthew's, I increased my following distant and made sure my lights were on so the other drivers could see my presence from the other lanes.

Spiritual fogginess can have several different meanings or perspectives. It can mean confusion or uncertainty, it could symbolize between the known and unknown, a spiritual test or God's presence hiding something for protection or revelation, requiring trust, stillness and faith to navigate until clarity returns. It can also mean God's merciful concealment or a period of spiritual gestation before growth.

During my drive yesterday, I felt His presence and His peace. In this season of my life, I believe He is growing my trust by clouding my vision. He is teaching me how to gain His trust by leading me through obscurity and into greater purpose. In the stillness of the moment yesterday, I felt His peace on a different level not like before because He knows all about all of our journeys. What's up ahead, and what obstacles that may try to get in the way.

Lord, I thank you! Read 1 Cor. 13:12

How to navigate spiritual fog:

  • Be Still & Wait: Stop, trust God's timing, and don't rush to move until clarity returns, similar to waiting for fog to lift.
  • Seek God: Pray, ask for guidance, and remember that spiritual light (God's Word/presence) can pierce through the thickest fog.
  • Look for Signs: Continue to serve and love others, recognizing God's work in the world, which provides clarity and purpose.

Focus on Truth: know is true through God's Word (Scripture), even when feelings are uncertain.
