Happy Miracle Monday!

He is indeed Risen!

The Power of Expectation!

We witnessed one of the greatest miracles when our Suffering Savior rose from the grave. But what about you! What miracle do you need? What breakthrough? What healing? It’s time to expect great things. We need to understand that if God is going to do something, He looks for people who have expectation (those expecting God to do the impossible).

In Luke 3:15, “now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts,” we see desperate people in eager expectation and anticipation of their Messiah’s coming. Our God is all-powerful, yet we limit His works in our lives when we refuse to believe in His ability.

In order to receive the greatness of our God, our posture must be that of anticipation, expectation, and manifestation. Expect an outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

There’s a familiar commercial featuring famous actor Samuel Jackson. He asks the question, “what’s in your wallet?” My question to you is, what’s your heart? The power of expectation. What area are you expecting God to breakthrough? What miracle(s) are you waiting for the Lord to perform? And could he be waiting on you?

Believe that he is ready to perform a miracle at any place and at any time.

Expectation in God is the active, confident anticipation of His promises, acting as the fuel for faith and a precursor to miracles. It sets the atmosphere for the Holy Spirit to act, shifting focus from limitations to God’s power. Expectation shapes reality, as positive anticipation of God’s goodness draws His power into daily life.

Key Aspects of Expectation in God:

  • Definition: It is "confident expectancy" or "hope," which is the "substance" of faith. It is holding an eager anticipation that God will do what He promised.
  • Catalyst for Miracles: Biblical figures, such as the lame man at the temple and the woman with the issue of blood, received miracles through great expectation.
  • Creating the Atmosphere: Expectation is a "spiritual law" or "force" that creates an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit to be poured out, leading to divine intervention.
  • The "Expectation Effect": What individuals expect, they generally experience. Aligning expectations with God’s Word brings positive outcomes.
  • Active Faith: True expectation involves acting on trust in God’s character and promises, rather than just passively waiting.
  • Overcoming Negative Expectations: One must actively overcome fears and low expectations to receive all God has promised.

How to Cultivate Expectation:

  • Declare God's Goodness: Focus on the belief that God is good and will work good in your life.
  • Focus on Promises, Not Problems: Base expectations on Scripture and God’s promises rather than current circumstances or the opinions of others.
  • Act in Faith: Take steps that show you expect God to come through, such as acting in anticipation of a needed breakthrough.
