PREPARE HIM ROOM

As we prepare for CHRIST-mas, let's not forget who, and why we are celebrating. It's so easy to get "caught-up" with other things during this holiday season. However, we should place our energy and focus on what matters the most, Christ, Himself.

CHRIST-mas should be a time of joy and celebration, but in our hurriedness of the season, let us not forget to PREPARE HIM ROOM IN OUR HEARTS! Let us remember to give Him the sacred space He alone deserves. What if we made room for the joy found in the coming of our King?

Journey through Luke's account of Jesus' birth, life, death, and resurrection, and allow this holy season to transform us inwardly.

Let us prepare to receive our King!

Key ways to PREPARE HIM ROOM:

To prepare your heart for Jesus, you need to intentionally invite Him in, clear out spiritual clutter (sin, worldly distractions) through confession and surrender, and then consistently make space for Him daily through prayer, Bible reading, worship, and aligning your actions with His will, making Him the Guest of Honor in your life, not just a quick check-off. It's about creating an ongoing, welcoming home, not a one-time clean.

1. Clean House (Confession & Surrender)

• Confess sins: Humble yourself and ask Jesus to cleanse you from areas of frustration, resentment, or worldly desires.
• Clear clutter: Get rid of "junk" like grudges, unforgiveness, or idols (like worldly things/greed) that crowd Him out.
• Surrender control: Give Jesus the "key" to your life and trust His plans over your own.

2. Invite Him In (Intention & Expectation)

• Open the door: Ask Jesus to come in and show Himself to you.
• Be intentional: Recognize that making room requires effort and focus, not just waiting for Him to show up.
• Set the table: Cultivate enthusiastic expectation and honor Him as the main guest.

3. Make Room Daily (Lifestyle)

• Prioritize Him: Make time for Him a priority, not an item on a to-do list, focusing on His goodness.
• Commune with Him: Talk to Him in prayer and listen through reading His Word (Bible).
• Worship & Enjoy: Spend time adoring Him and focusing on His character.
• Live it out: Honor Him in your actions, attitudes, and by sharing your faith.
• Seek His Presence: Be still and allow His peace and joy to fill you, even in daily activities.

By doing these things, you turn your heart from a crowded inn into a permanent, welcoming home for Christ.
