God's working in your waiting.
Posted January 26, 2026
Due to the inclement weather, Mecklenburg County is closed today (1/2626). Therefore, my morning commute wasn’t spent with moments of WAITING at a snare’s pace to get there. As I was in meditation, I began to reflect on those moments of waiting as it relates to my journey with God.
Speaking from experience, many of us do not like when God places us in a season of waiting. We have come to the realization that waiting doesn’t come easy. And quite frankly, waiting can feel frustrating. Too often, we think nothing is being done in our waiting. But what if our waiting is preparation for something more profound?
In our moments of waiting, life may appear as though things are dormant on the surface. But these are the greatest moments where God is creating space for us to let go of what’s unnecessary. In our waiting, God is growing us. He is doing an internal transformation and molding us into His likeness.
Waiting doesn’t mean God is holding back from us, He’s preparing space for greater clarity and purpose. God works in our waiting, answering both our spoken and unspoken requests. In my “waiting” experiences, (yes) even with my I-77 traffic commute, I’ve learned (1). How to reframe my perspective on waiting. (2). How to trust instead of having control. (3). Maintain hope with a positive attitude.
Key aspects of God's work in the waiting:
Internal Transformation: God focuses on preparing the individual's character, cultivating wisdom, humility, and faith.
Orchestration and Timing: God is aligning circumstances for His glory and for personal good, operating with perfect, not delayed, timing.
Deepening Trust: The waiting period serves as an opportunity to move from reliance on self to trust in God’s sovereignty.
Active Preparation: Even when nothing seems to be happening, heaven is working to ensure readiness for the next, often bigger, step.
Key Takeaways for Waiting:
Reframing the Wait: Instead of viewing it as a waste, see it as a "waiting room" where God is actively working.
Trust Over Control: The goal is to surrender control and trust in His, not ours, timing.
Maintain Hope: A, positive expectation of good, and patience in the process is encouraged, as God is never late.
Love y'all!
