It’s funny sometimes how God does a thing!

The beginning of August our topic for our “Straight Talk” Bible Study” was on “The Walk from Fear to Faith.” Our September series was titled, The Beauty and the Blessings of Brokenness.”

During my devotional period this morning, I thought back to the last few months. I have experienced exactly what I was teaching on. At the end of July of this year, and riding through August and September; God has allowed me to experience what walking out of fear and into a next level of faith really looks like (meaning, doing exactly how and what He says to do). He also allowed me to have a hands-on experience with brokenness. Only this time, I immediately knew this was a different kind of breaking.

Deliverance and healing filled the atmosphere as each participants shared their familiarity with brokenness. As the host, I opted to wait until the last of the series to reveal my story. As I sought the Lord on what I should share, the most recent interaction to the journey I was on, is what I heard Him say. I kept asking Him, praying that He would say something different. See, what He wanted me to share, wasn’t what I wanted anyone to know. (How many of you know that it’s not always about you)?

God will sometimes ask us to do hard and difficult things. But what is really important, is how will we respond when He does. Will you obey Him? Will you trust that He knows everything has a special purpose for His requests. Will you be able to accept the fact that the pain involved in obedience may benefit those you serve, and not you personally? I am forever thankful and grateful to God for how He continues to use me as His vessel. I truly acknowledge that “my life is not my own.”
