Put Doubt Out and Let Faith In!

Put Doubt Out and Let Faith In!

Posted on October 14, 2025

Have you ever dreamed for something that seemed unreachable?

All the circumstances point to all the impossibilities, and you cast the dreams aside. I, perhaps like you have walked where doubt was my constant companion. I doubted whether I was “good enough”, smart enough, or that I simply had what it took to live my dreams out loud. I used to look for validation from others, wrestling with words from critics that didn’t even create me.

Why am I sharing this with you? There are some of you that need to hear that God can resurrect your hopes and dreams. You just have to believe, put your doubt out, and let your faith in. Listen, while Jesus was beside the sea, surrounded by a large crowd, Jarius a synagogue ruler, fell at His feet and begged Jesus to heal his daughter. As Jesus makes His way to the little girl, He gets word that she had dies and Jesus should no longer be bothered. In response to this news, He tells Jarius, “Do not fear, only believe.”

When God births something in you, sometimes there are people in your circle that will speak negative and place doubt in you, whereas it should be faith. They are described as your doubters and haters. They are there to sabotage what God placed in you. The key to overriding these encounters is to remove the doubters. Everyone in your circle is not there to root you on or celebrate you. Let your inner circle be just that!

If we want to see Jesus resurrects our crushed hopes and long-gone dreams, we must put all the doubt outside. Miracles can’t thrive in the toxic environment of doubt. Doubt suffocates. Doubt sucks the air out from the chambers of our hearts.

Practical Steps to Overcome Doubt

  1. Immerse Yourself in God's Word: Regularly reading and studying the Bible builds your faith and helps you discern God's voice from your own thoughts or the enemy's lies. Faith is strengthened by hearing and internalizing the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
  2. Pray Consistently and Honestly: Take your doubts and worries directly to God in prayer. Confess your unbelief and ask the Holy Spirit for clarification, strength, and guidance. He is not surprised by your questions and welcomes your honesty.
  3. Seek Godly Counsel and Community Support: Share your dream and your struggles with trusted spiritual mentors or a community of believers. Wise, faith-filled people can offer prayer support, objective perspectives, and biblical insight to help confirm the dream and encourage you along the journey.
  4. Take Action (Even Small Steps): Faith is active; it requires corresponding action. Sitting still out of fear or waiting for every detail to be clear can hinder progress. Take the first step God reveals, trusting that as you move in obedience, He will direct your subsequent steps.
  5. Focus on God, Not Obstacles: When challenges or difficult circumstances arise, intentionally shift your focus from the "waves" and "wind" to God's presence and truth, similar to Peter walking on water.
  6. Be Open to Confirmation: God often confirms a divine dream through various "witnesses," such as a scripture that comes alive, a message in a sermon, or an unrelated conversation with a friend that echoes the same message.
  7. Surrender the Outcome: Recognize that God's plan is always better than your own, and His timing is perfect. Release your tight grip on how you think the dream should unfold and trust His sovereign control. This surrender brings peace and allows God to be glorified in the process.
